Surface finishing & coating
Surface finishing is a key step in enhancing the functionality and appearance of components. At FGW, we offer various processes to specifically improve the service life, corrosion resistance and technical suitability of workpieces - tailored to the respective application.
Depending on the material and requirements, we coordinate electroplating or mechanical processes, coloring and lettering directly in-house or with long-standing partner companies. This means you receive your components ready for assembly and surface-treated from a single source.
Our surface treatments include barrel finishing, sandblasting (glass bead, high-grade corundum), passivation and the painting and powder coating of metals. Our range also includes laser marking and brazing in preparation for assembly processes.

We use barrel finishing, sandblasting, laser marking and passivation in-house. We cooperate with qualified partners for galvanic and thermal processes.
Can components also be color treated?
Yes - we offer painting and powder coating according to customer specifications, e.g. for serial marking, protection or decorative purposes.
How is the quality of the surface tested?
Depending on the process, the surface quality is checked visually or by measurement - e.g. by micrographs, visual inspection or dimensional inspection after coating.
