Surface grinding and cylindrical grinding

Grinding is an important part of our production when it comes to particularly fine surfaces, tight tolerances and the final dimensional accuracy of components. At FGW, we offer both surface and cylindrical grinding in-house - for precise results with rotationally symmetrical or flat workpieces.

Our grinding processes are often used in the final machining step, for example after milling, turning or eroding, when the components need to be cut to size and the surface defined.

Functional and fitting surfaces with tight tolerances and high surface quality
Grinding of rotationally symmetrical components such as shafts, sleeves and bolts

Processing is carried out depending on the material and component with a coordinated grain size and suitable sanding strategy. This enables us to achieve consistently high quality for small to medium quantities - from individual parts to series production.

Your advantages with FGW

Fine-tuning for dimensional accuracy & function
In-house loops for short distances & throughput times
Experienced sanding technology for dimensional & shape accuracy
Ideal for functional surfaces & mounting fits
Clean finishing for steel & aluminum

What accuracy can be achieved during grinding?

Depending on the component and material, we achieve tolerances in the range of ±0.01 mm - ideal for mating surfaces and technical requirements.

Is grinding also offered for individual parts?

Yes, we offer both custom-made products and small series. Prototypes can also be reworked in the grinding process.

Which materials can be ground?

As a rule, we process steel, stainless steel, hardened materials and non-ferrous metals such as aluminum. Coated components are also possible on request.

FGW - your partner for precise production, clean processes and reliable results for over 30 years.
